Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith "revelation" on our Facebook page, so I thought I'd post posters for some of the movies she appeared in during her short, but memorable career. We don't usually do an "Our Favorite Movie Posters" that includes multiple posters for one actor. But, we recently had a
Her IMDB.com "Mini Biography: "Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith is an actress very familiar to many genre film fans. With leads in B films, and meaty smaller parts in more major ones, her career showed great promise in the 70s. Alas, it was not meant to be...the lure of hard drugs was to bring tragedy to the lovely and talented "Rainbeaux" (a nickname given her for being a mainstay at L.A.'s Rainbow Club, a popular spot for musicians...Rainbeaux was once a member of the legendary girl band The Runaways). Heroin plagued her life for many years, and caused her to contract hepatitis...which ultimately killed her. She is the mother of a son, allegedly sired by a member of the rock band The Animals."
Rainbeaux Trivia (Also from IMDB.com):
Had a sizable co-starring role in the original longer version of "The Driver" (1978), but alas the subplot involving her character was excised and subsequently all of Smith's scenes were cut out as well. Director Walter Hill regretted cutting these scenes and spoke favorably about Smith's acting skills.
Grew up in the '60s just off the Sunset Strip.
Served two terms in prison. While serving her time in prison Smith put her artistic talents to use designing tattoos for fellow inmates.
Had a son named Justin.
Auditioned for the role of Iris in Taxi Driver.
An article on BBDI detailing Ms. Smith's career and life is in the works, but for now, please enjoy these posters from her various appearances.
