How I'll Always Remember Him... How I'll Always Remember Him...Today is the 3rd anniversary of the death of Rudy Ray Moore.

Rudy died on October 19, 2008 of complications from diabetes. He was 81.

In his early career Rudy was a well known comedian, doing black "party records." His stage personality featured blunt sex routines but, unlike contemporaries Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor, he never crossed over to white audiences.

The Washington Post wrote that Moore was "an astounding renderer of 'toasts,' — elaborately boastful, profane and scatological tales of life in the old-style urban subculture of pimps, prostitutes, gamblers and badmen."

It was said by Rudy that he developed the style by listening to men sitting outside joints "drinking beer and lying and talking shit."

Click to View Larger... Click to View Larger...I figured since it was October it'd be cool to go ahead and do some reviews of slasher flicks. I only have a few in my library, since I'm not a huge fan of the slasher genre. (I do appreciate Halloween II, the killer showed some originality in the way he offed his victims, he wasn't just the usual "knife 'em til they die" type "hack" killer.)

After doing some research, I did find "Slumber Party Massacre Collection", which includes SPM 1, 2, and yes, 3, so I'll be doing a review of that set very soon. My research also revealed a film I forgotten all about until now, the film is "Snuff" (1976).
